Brown Sugar Date Nut Bars |

Ingredients:

2/3 cup unbleached white flour |
|
2/3 cup dark brown sugar |
|
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans |
|
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
|
1/4 teaspoon Cardamom |
|
1/4 teaspoon salt |
|
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
|
1 cup finely chopped dates |
|
2 egg whites, lightly beaten |
|
|
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° and lightly oil an 8" square baking pan. Set aside.
Combine all ingredients except eggs; stir well. Add eggs and stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon batter into prepared baking pan; bake until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting.
